Case Update: U.S. Supreme Court Hears Argument on Racial Gerrymandering in South Carolina

The U.S. Supreme Court recently heard argument in Alexander v. South Carolina State Conference of the NAACP, an appeal of a decision by the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, after a bench trial, that District 1 of the state's legislative district map was a racial gerrymander and constituted intentional race discrimination.
