The Dr. Joseph H. Ladd School was a former feeble-minded school and chronic care facility for children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Founded in the town of Exeter in 1908 and abandoned in 1993, the institution was in operation for 86 years, during which time more than 5,000 Rhode Islanders lived and died there.
