Case: Libby v. Fecteau

On February 15, 2025, Maine State Representative Laurel Libby was barred from speaking or voting on the House floor by the Maine House of Representatives. Representative Libby was censured for making posts on social media about a teenage transgender student athlete. Representative Libby filed suit soon after. On May 20, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court granted emergency relief in Representative Libby's favor.
