Case Summary

(This summary is temporary, while we research the case.)

In May of 2025, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that it was investigating a "prestigious midwestern university" for possible Title IV violations following public allegations of institutional antisemitism as well as other discriminatory patterns or practices on campus. The investigation was launched in the wake of the Trump administration's decision to pause $790 million in federal funds to Northwestern University on similar accusations. On November 28, 2025, Northwestern agreed to pay $75 million to the federal government in order to halt the investigation and restore the frozen funds.
