We're thrilled to share three new oral history interviews in our Clearinghouse Oral History Project collection.

The Clearinghouse's Oral History Project includes interviews conducted by Michigan Law students with preeminent civil rights attorneys about their backgrounds and careers, including the landmark civil rights cases to which they have contributed.

New to the collection:

  • An interview with social psychologist Craig Haney, Ph.D., J.D., that addresses Dr. Haney's work at the intersection of social psychology and law. Topics of focus include Dr. Haney's work studying and shedding light on the psychological effects of incarceration, addressing mental health behind bars, and the death penalty, and his advocacy for meaningful, humane reform of the criminal justice system.
  • An interview with attorney and law professor Paul Reingold. Professor Reingold describes and reflects on his work as a legal services attorney and clinical law professor, including cases involving prisoner's rights, challenges to Michigan's Sex Offender Registry Act, and the creation of the Washtenaw Health Plan, as well as his role in developing clinical legal education at Michigan Law School and beyond.
  • An interview with civil rights attorney Yasmin Cader.  Attorney Cader discusses her background and path to her current role as the Deputy Legal Director of the ACLU and Director of its Trone Center for Justice and Equality, highlights her early legal experiences including her work as a public defender and at the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, and reflects on her current role.
