With Laura Poitras, one of the recipients of the Snowden archive, NY Times reporter Charlie Savage wrote a story mapping out some of the major rulings of the FISA Court after 9/11 that affected Americans’ privacy rights and that the public did not know about. He then filed a lengthy FOIA request seeking to obtain disclosure of those rulings and related litigation documents. The Electronic Frontier Foundation had filed an overlapping FOIA case and sought some of the same documents, so our cases were consolidated before the same judge. The resulting documents released are on this page.
