Case Summary

[This summary is temporary while we research the case.]

On November 14, 2025, Plaintiffs, U.S. importers subjected to the challenged duties, brought this lawsuit in the U.S. Court of International Trade against U.S. Customs and Border Protection and its commissioner, as well as the United States, in order to challenge a suite of unlawful Trump Administration tariff orders. The "IEEPA orders" dramatically raised the cost of machinery and components sourced globally, pursuant to a series of 2025 executive orders issued by the Trump administration. Plaintiffs argued that the President’s attempts to justify tariffs through drug-trafficking-related emergencies or trade-deficit emergencies exceeded statutory and constitutional limits. Plaintiffs requested declaratory and injunctive relief, plus refunds of all unlawfully collected tariffs.
