In 1981, an organization of Vietnamese Fisherman and individual Vietnamese fisherman filed a lawsuit against the KKK, the Grand Dragon of the KKK in Texas, the American Fishermen's Coalitions, and other individuals alleging violations of federal and state law. The defendants had allegedly interfered with and engaged in acts of violence or intimidation toward the plaintiff class during the shrimping season.
