On 2/15/1989, female inmates housed within the Nevada Department of Prisons filed a Section 1983 class action suit in the District of Nevada, against officials of the Nevada Department of Prisons. Plaintiffs complained of inadequate vocational programs and maintenance at Nevada Department of Prisons institutions. Plaintiffs were represented by apparently private counsel.
In February 1993, the parties submitted a stipulated settlement agreement that required defendants to encourage the entities and individuals responsible for vocational programs to place vocational programs within the NDOP facilities. Additionally, defendants agreed to maintain the physical plant where members of the class are housed within constitutional parameters.
The docket for this case is not available on PACER, and therefore our information ends with the stipulated dismissal with prejudice, dated February 4, 1993.
