Challenge to Tennessee Law Banning Gender-Affirming Care for Minors Headed to U.S. Supreme Court

A lawsuit challenging a Tennessee law banning gender-affirming care for people under age 18 is set for oral argument next month at the U.S. Supreme Court. The district court granted preliminary injunctive relief on the grounds that the challenged law was underinclusive, barring certain treatmenrs for minors identifying as transgender only but not for other minors.  The Sixth Circuit reversed.  On appeal, the U.S. Supreme Court will consider whether the law violates the Equal Protection Clause.  Read more and access case documents here
