On Sept. 3, 2013, the county requested a stay of the writ while they appealed.
This case was resolved by the New Mexico Supreme Court's December 19, 2013 decision in the case Griego v. Oliver, which held that the state's constitution required the issuing of marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
