(This summary is temporary, while we research the case). This case centered around a cake shop in Colorado and the gay couple who tried to get a wedding cake there and was turned away for religious reasons. The Colorado Civil Rights Commision, the Colorado Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Colorado all found that the cake shop owner had violated Colorado's Anti-Discrimination Act, and that religious expression did not excuse the cake shop owner of abiding by the law. The Supreme Court reversed. This case is closed.
