This case is about a challenge to Florida election law.
Plaintiff, a private citizen, filed a complaint pro se in the Northern District of Florida on October 7, 2020. His complaint (i) claimed that he, a registered Democrat, was unconstitutionally precluded from voting across party lines and (ii) challenged the eligibility of officials elected via the election in question. The plaintiff sought that the Alachua County election results be set aside by temporary injunction and a new election be conducted. Plaintiff's complaint stemmed from allegations that Republicans were "not allowed" to vote for in the Sheriff's race, and that as a Democrat he was required to vote for only the candidates in his party. He further alleged that if he were a communist, he would not be allowed to vote at all. The claims were brought with no evidence.
On December 10, 2020, the court dismissed the case. The court deemed the complaint insufficient, procedurally and for failure to state a clause, and, upon Plaintiff's failure to remedy, the Court dismissed the complaint.
