Case Summary

(This summary is temporary while we research the case further). On May 17, 2024, a Jewish resident of Davis sued the University of California David in federal court. The plaintiff, who had counterprotested a pro-Palestinian encampment on campus, argued that the University's support of the encampment violated his First and Fourteenth Amendment rights. Additionally, the plaintiff alleged that the encampment violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by preventing people from using a cement pathway through the quad.
