On December 10, 2025, the Center for Biological Diversity brought this suit in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture and their respective agencies. Plaintiffs sought to challenge the inclusion of President Trump's portrait on the 2026 Annual "America the Beautiful" national parks pass, in violation of agency policy. Plaintiffs requested declaratory and injunctive relief under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act and the Administrative Procedure Act.
