Case Summary

[This summary is temporary while we research the case.] This is a class action lawsuit in which female applicants to Columbus’s fire department sued the City of Columbus, alleging that the physical capability test (PCT) which was used as part of the fire department’s entry level examination was discriminatory against women. The case was filed on November 14, 1984, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
