On July 20, 2023, California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing filed suit against Activision Blizzard, alleging a culture of "constant sexual harassment" of which high-level executives were aware. On December 16, 2023, DEFH announced that Activision Blizzard had agreed to pay $54 million to settle the suit, with about $45.75 million set aside for compensating women who worked at the company. Under the terms of the settlement, women who worked for the company between Oct. 12, 2015, and Dec. 31, 2020, either as hires or independent contractors, may be eligible for compensation.
