Case Summary

[This summary is temporary while we research this case.]

On December 17, 2025, private plaintiffs filed suit against Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem and the Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. In their lawsuit, plaintiffs allege that the Trump administration is unduly interfering with First Amendment rights to protest and assemble, claiming that defendants have pepper sprayed, violently subdued, and aimed assault rifles at protesters and observers, and even followed observers home to scare them.

This case is ongoing.
