On February 24, 2026, the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed this complaint in the Central District of California against the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). DOJ officials alleged that dozens of civil rights complaints filed by Jewish or Israeli employees were not properly investigated. The complaint alleged that the general atmosphere of antisemitism remains so severe that the University's failure to protect Jewish staff from this atmosphere constitute a hostile work environment in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
