On February 5, 2024, the United States of America and the State of North Carolina filed this lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. On February 5, 2024, the parties submitted proposed consent orders for the court's approval. The proposed consent orders required FNB to conduct a community credit needs assessment, provide fair lending training, establish new branches in majority-Black and Hispanic census tracts, among other things, and would remain in effect for five years. On February 13, 2024, Judge Eagles entered the consent orders.
