Case Summary

[This summary is temporary while we research this case.]

This case challenges the FCC’s alleged retaliation against ABC, Disney, and eight ABC-owned television stations for programming and editorial decisions critical of the Administration. The plaintiffs allege that the FCC launched pretextual investigations, required the stations to seek license renewal years early, and threatened adverse licensing action to pressure them to alter their coverage, chilling their speech and that of other broadcasters in violation of the First Amendment.
