This case challenges the Trump Administration's actions to allow immigration enforcement in religious spaces. On February 11, 2025, 20+ religious organizations of the Christian and Jewish faiths filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The complaint was filed against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It  alleged that DHS's rescission of its sensitive locations policy, which prohibited immigration enforcement actions by defendants in sensitive locations like places of worship, violated the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the First Amendment, and the Administrative Procedure Act. The plaintiffs were represented by the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection and sought declaratory and injunctive relief, as well as attorney fees.

The case was subsequently assigned to Judge Dabney L. Friedrich.

On February 21, 2025, the plaintiffs filed a Motion for Preliminary Injunction to 1) prevent the defendants from carrying out immigration enforcement activities at places of worship and 2) stay the effective date of DHS's Rescission Memo. The case is ongoing.
