Case Summary

(This summary is temporary, while we research the case.) On April 15, 2025, three law students--who applied for jobs at various law firms under investigation by the EEOC--filed this lawsuit against the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and its Acting Chair in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. As part of the government's investigation against the law firms, the EEOC demanded the law firms turn over sensitive personal information about their applicants and employees. The Plaintiffs alleged that the EEOC has no statutory authority to make this demand.
