On April 30, 2025, a transgender woman incarcerated in federal prison FCC Petersburg filed this lawsuit pro se in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia against President Donald Trump, the U.S. Attorney General, the Acting Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the Acting Warden of FCC Petersburg. She challenged Executive Order 14168, which in part denied gender-affirming healthcare, undergarments, and hygiene items to transgender inmates. She has also sought appointment of counsel.
