The Denver Field Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Kennecott Energy and Goal Company, doing business as Antelope Coal Company, in September of 1999, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming. The only document available from PACER is the court docket, which limits the facts of the case and outcome. The first major event to occur on the docket is a motion by the defendant Kennecott Energy to substitute a party in their place and on March 13, 2000, Antelope Coal Company was officially substituted as the defendant and Kennecott Energy was terminated. Then after a few discovery motions, Antelope Coal Company moved for summary judgment, and on June 6, 2000, that motion was granted. The EEOC tried to have the judgment altered or amended, however that was eventually denied in April of 2001. Finally the EEOC appealed the District Courts denial of its motion to alter or amend the judgment, and that appeal was dismissed by the U.S. Court of Appeals in August of 2001.
