The EEOC's Dallas district office sued Lansink Consulting, Inc., a Texas technology consultant, and E3 Group, Inc., a Texas commercial real estate property manager, on December 1, 1998 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. The EEOC's complaint is unavailable, but the consent decree states that the EEOC alleged that the defendants violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act with regards to an elderly employee. The parties entered into the consent decree on November 19, 1999 which stipulated that the defendants would not discriminate based on age in the future, destroy the files surrounding the aggrieved employee's termination, and pay the aggrieved employee $20,000 in damages.
