Case Summary

In June 2005, the Chicago District Office of the EEOC filed this lawsuit against temporary staffing service Webster Temporary Services, Inc. and Thomas Webster individually in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Specifically, the complaint alleged that the defendant failed to hire a disabled person and asked questions regarding temporary worker's abilities in violation of the Act. Following some discovery, the parties settled the lawsuit through a settlement agreement in March 2006. The settlement agreement required the dissolved corporation and defendant to pay the complaining party $2,400 for emotional distress.
