In August 2006, the Philadelphia District Office of the EEOC filed this suit against White & Williams in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania alleging discrimination in violation of Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). The complaint alleged that the defendant failed to provide the charging party, a female employee, with reasonable accommodations needed for her disability, Rheumatoid Arthritis. After learning of her disability, a supervisor verbally harassed and intimidated the charging party and created a new job description for her position, claiming that she was no longer qualified for the position. The company then terminated the charging party because of her disability. After some discovery, the parties settled in March 2007.
