Case Summary

In September 2000, the San Antonio office brought this suit against Local Union No. 142 of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States & Canada, AFL-CIO, and San Antonio Area Plumbers & Pipefitters Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. The complaint is unavailable, but court documents show that the EEOC alleged on behalf of a female charging party that the defendants subjected her to a sexually hostile work environment in violation of Title VII. The defendants filed a motion for summary judgment in August 2001, which was granted in January 2002. The EEOC filed a notice of appeal in March 2002, but the appeal was subsequently dismissed.
