In January 2002, the El Paso and San Antonio offices of the EEOC brought this suit against JB's Lounge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas to enforce a mediation entered into by the defendant to resolve a charge of ADEA discrimination against the charging party. Both parties filed motion to enter a consent decree in November 2002.
The one and a half year consent decree required the defendant to pay the charging party $7,500 in total, refrain from discrimination and retaliation, provide the charging party with neutral reference, and expunge the charging party's records.
