Case Summary

The Houston District Office of the EEOC brought this action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern Division of Texas, against Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. The complaint, filed in February 2003, alleged sex discrimination in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal Pay Act.

The case settled and a consent decree was signed in May 2003. The decree, which was valid for three years, provided that Defendant would post a non-discrimination notice, provide annual non-discrimination training for all employees, and required Defendant to state that it was an equal opportunity employer when recruiting and placing job advertisements. Defendant was also required to provide annual reports to the EEOC regarding charges and internal complaints of sex discrimination.
