The Baltimore district office of the EEOC brought this suit against Bouzianis, Inc., an entity doing business as the Double T Diner, in September 2006, in the District Court of Maryland. The complaint alleged that a waitress was subjected to sexual harassment by her supervisor and the business owner. The harassment was severe enough to cause her to be constructively discharged from her position. After the Defendant made a motion to dismiss, both parties requested alternative dispute resolution. In May 2007, a settlement conference was held. The motion to dismiss was denied in August 2007, and a consent decree was issued in October 2007.The consent decree required the Defendant to implement a revised sexual harassment policy. This policy included a contact person to whom reports of harassment could be made and an impartial investigation procedure. The consent decree also required mandatory training of employees (including managers and supervisors); the posting of notices informing employees of their statutory right to a workplace free from harassment; and the distribution of the notice to new employees. The decree was to last for three years. The docket sheet doesn't show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2010.
