Case Summary

In September 2005, the EEOC's Dallas office filed this suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas against F & N Holdings, LLC d/b/a Club Uropa alleging violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Specifically, the EEOC alleged that the defendant discriminated against women employees on the basis of sex and retaliated against women employees for their complaints. The parties agreed on a consent decree in May 2006 that was subsequently adopted by the court. The decree required the defendant to pay $40,000 to one individual, the charging party. It also enjoined the defendant from discriminating or retaliating in the future and required the defendant to institute equal employment opportunity training programs and create, enforce and disseminate anti-discrimination policies. The settlement term was three years. The docket sheet does not show any further enforcement; the case was presumably closed in 2009.
