In September 2005, the Raleigh (along with the Washington, D.C. and Charlotte) office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against Dallas Bell Inc d/b/a Ham & Eggs in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. The complaint alleged that the defendant discriminated against the claimant by discharging her in retaliation of her complaint of being sexually assaulted by a co-worker. The court entered a default judgment in favor of the plaintiff in March 2006. The court ordered the defendant to pay the claimant $36,000 in back pay and compensatory damages.
