In August 2002, the EEOC district office in Dallas, Texas brought this suit against the Bluegreen Corporation in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Two former females attempted to intervene in the case, one succeeded. The complaint states that the successful former female employee alleged that the defendant violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 when it maintained a sexually hostile work environment, which led to her constructive discharge. After extensive discovery and a pending defense motion for summary judgment, the parties settled the case and a settlement agreement was entered in September 2006.

In the consent decree, the parties agreed that defendant would continue to implement its existing EEO policies, revise its EEO policy, post an EEO notice, provide EEO training, perform annual audits, pay the aggrieved party $51,000 in damages, and pay $34,000 in attorney's fees. The terms of the settlement ran for two years. The docket sheet does not show any further enforcement; the case was presumably closed in 2008.
