Case Summary

The EEOC filed this suit on September 30, 2003 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. The EEOC alleged that Defendant Johnson International, Inc., a global financial services company owned by the S.C. Johnson family, violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act by discriminating on the basis of sex when it retracted a job offer from the complainant when it learned she was pregnant.

A consent decree was issued on December 27, 2004, which required the defendant to pay the complainant $450,000. The consent decree, which was to last for two years, also required defendant to give to the EEOC every sixth with a document reporting every woman who applied for Senior Vice President positions and whether they were hired.

There has been no activity on the docket since 2005; the consent decree is expired, and the case is likely closed.
