In December 2002, the San Antonio district office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against Select Pre-Owned Homes, Ltd. d/b/a Castle Housing in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. The complaint alleged that the defendant subjected the claimants and others similarly situated to a harassment based on their sex (female). The case settled by entry of a consent decree in February 2004.
The three year consent decree required the defendant to pay the claimant $16,500 in damages, refrain from discrimination, adopt a sexual harassment policy, provide Title VII training for all of its managers, officers, and supervisory personnel, post notice, and keep records and give reports to the EEOC of any complaints of discrimination and sexual harassment.
The decree was entered in 2004 and scheduled to last 2007. No further docket entries exist, so the case is closed.
