The case was referred to mediation before Magistrate Judge A.E. Goodstein. Judge Goodstein presided over six settlement conferences between the parties from January to February 2004. The case was resolved by a consent decree entered on 03/23/2004.

Under the consent decree, the defendant agreed to pay the individual complainant $46,000 in emotional damages. The defendant was to refrain from discrimination or retaliation activities and was required to implement a confidential and reliable complaint procedure.
