The EEOC's Philadelphia district office sued Saw Creek Estates Community Association, Inc., on September 13, 2005 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. The EEOC's complaint alleged that the defendant violated Title VII when it discriminated based on sex (female) and race (African American) by creating a racially and sexually hostile work environment, resulting in her discharge. The parties entered into a consent decree on March 6, 2006, which stipulated that the defendant would pay the complainant $30,000 in damages, provide a neutral reference for the complainant, post a notice of compliance with Title VII, provide Title VII training to its managers, draft and distribute a non-discrimination policy, and annually report compliance with the consent decree. The decree was to last for three years. The docket sheet doesn't show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2009.
