In September 2005, the Los Angeles office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against K-T Contract Services, Inc. et al. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada. The complaint alleged that the defendant discriminated against the claimant because of her pregnancy. More specifically, the defendant failed to accord the claimant compensation, terms, conditions, and privileges of employment equal to those enjoyed by her non-pregnant counterparts. The case settled by entry of a consent decree in September 2006.
The two year consent decree required the defendant to refrain from discrimination and retaliation, pay the claimant $18,000, provide neutral references for the claimant, review and revise its anti-discrimination policy, implement a complaint/dispute resolution procedure, provide annual EEO rights training to managers/supervisors, human resources, and staff/hourly employees, post notice, distribute the revised policy, keep records on compliance with the decree, and give the EEOC reports every six months (and one 90 days after entry of the decree) on compliance with the decree and any complaints of discrimination and/or retaliation. The docket sheet doesn't show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2010.
