The EEOC's Charlotte office filed this suit on March 29, 2005 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, Durham Division. The suit alleged sexual harassment resulting in a hostile work environment and discharge of a female employee by defendant Roman Knit, Inc. After filing, each side filed discovery motions indicating that discovery was progressing. Neither discovery motion was ruled on because a consent decree was filed February 2, 2006. Prior to the entry of the consent decree, the parties participated in mediation on January 6, 2006.

In the consent decree, entered on February 13,2006 with some amendments from the proposed settlement, the defendant agreed to pay the complainant $1,500, expunge her employment record, and provide her with a neutral reference. The defendant also agreed to adopt a new non-discrimination policy, provide annual training for its employees, and report to the EEOC regarding complaints of sexual harassment. The term of the decree was set for three years.

As there appears to be no additional enforcement activity, presumably this matter finally ended in February 2009.
