Case Summary

In September 2003, the Baltimore office of the EEOC brought this Title VII suit against Home Quality Management, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. The complaint alleged that the defendant discriminated against the claimant by subjected her to a hostile work environment because of her sex, subjecting her to harassment for her complaint of sexual harassment, and constructively discharging the claimant. The case settled by entry of a consent decree in March 2004.

The two year consent decree required the defendant to refrain from discrimination, expunge the claimant's record, pay the claimant $30,000 in compensatory damages, post notice, and provide Title VII training for all of its employees.
