Case Summary

The Seattle District Office of the EEOC brought this suit against Labor Ready, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in October 2005. The complaint alleged sexual harassment in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The complainant intervened in the case in December 2005, alleging additional state law claims. The case was consolidated with EEOC v. IFA Nurseries, 3:05−cv−05641−RBL (W.D. Wash. Sept. 30 2005) in December 2005. After engaging in mediation, the parties reached a settlement in June 2006. The defendants agreed to pay $36,000 to the complainant, and to implement training on EEO law, policies prohibiting discrimination in the workplace, and procedures for employees to bring allegations of discrimination. The terms of the agreement were to run for 2 years. The docket sheet does not show any further enforcement took place; the case was presumably closed in 2008.
